Hello! Hack & Smash is my little site for my various development blogs and project galeries. It serves as a portfolio as well as (hopefully) a place where people can learn a little bit about electronic hardware design, programming, and various other topics.
I am a New York City based computer hardware engineer with a focus on emerging technologies and developing proprietary hardware systems and interfaces. I primarily focus on developing for embedded systems and microprocessors, designing PCBs, surface mount soldering, and game programming (C++) in Unreal Engine 4.
I have professional experience leading and working for various tech start-ups revolving around emerging technologies such as virtual reality and designing self driving automobile based camera systems. I also have experience working for a defense department and government contractor engineering firm where I focused on programming various real-time FPGA, SoC, and microprocessors. I developed proprietary user controlled software to control various proprietary deep sea hardware systems.
I graduated with a B.S. in Computer Engineering from the University of Southern Mississippi and a B.S. in Biology / Chemistry from The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB)
I absolutely love what I do and I hope you learn something from my site! If you need to contact me, reach me through Twitter @KaizienWins or by emailing me at Grant@HackAndSmash.com !
Credits to everyone who has contributed to some of the projects mentioned and showcased on this site. There is no way possible that I could do half my projects without the help of friends, family, and professionals who make doing what I do so much fun. Thanks to: Audrey Hinkle, Justin Word, William Addison, Dante Buckley, Antoine Young, Daniel Khalili, and many many others. (If I didn't mention you, tell me and I'll add you!)
